The annual election for Coles County SWCD Directors was held on February 8th. This year there were 3 positions to be filled. After all of the ballots were counted, the Coles Co. SWCD’s 2018 Board of Directors consists of Bill Janes, Max Miller, Pat Harrington (re-elected), Todd Easton (re-elected), and William Tapella (first-term). Thank you to everyone who voted!
The Coles Co. SWCD would also like to thank former director Darla Choui-nard for her years of service. Darla decided to step down in order to free up time for other passions. She served the SWCD for 6 years, first as an associate director and then as a director.
New director Mr. Tapella and his wife Lela live on a small farm outside Ash-more. He is a lawyer by trade, and in his free time is an avid upland bird hunter. Bill also belongs to several habitat and environmental organizations.
