The annual election for Coles County SWCD Directors was held on February 7th. This year there were 2 positions to be filled. After all of the ballots were counted, the Coles Co. SWCD’s 2018 Board of Directors consists of Bill Janes, Todd Easton, Pat Harrington (re-elected), William Tapella, and Justin Thomas (first-term). Thank you to everyone who voted!
The newest addition to the Coles County SWCD Board is Justin Thomas. The son of Jerry and Martha Thomas, Justin is a 4th generation Coles County farmer who farms alongside his father, a former Coles County SWCD Conservationist of the year, and his brother Jon Thomas. Together they operate the family farm located near Hutton. Justin’s hobbies include tractor pulling and restoring antique tractors. Justin is pictured here with his fiancé Sarah Rhoads of Mattoon. She works at St. John’s Lutheran School in Mattoon.
